WATER SOFTENER INSTALLATION PROCESS NASHVILLE

Standard installation takes 4-6 hours. That's 3 hours for the softener in your crawlspace or garage, 1-2 hours for the RO under your kitchen sink, and 30 minutes showing you how everything works. Complex installations (weird plumbing, tight spaces) might take up to 8 hours. We'll tell you upfront if yours looks complicated.

We strongly recommend against installing this system in a home you don't own, wait until you get your own place and then give us a call. We also can't legally alter their property without their permission. 

Yes, someone 18+ needs to be there. Not to watch us work (unless you want to), but to let us in, show us around, and approve the final installation. Most people go about their day while we work. We'll call you over for the important parts.

We can do systems inside, wherever the water main is, but it isn't ideal. For outside installs, it is possible but the system would need to be partially buried with a special valve cover we can order. We really recommend doing this inside a garage or crawlspace, and have smaller systems if you are height constrained.

Zero mess. We use drop cloths, shoe covers, and vacuum up any debris. Your house will look exactly the same when we leave, except your water won't suck anymore. If we do make a mess, which should never happen, we'll pay for professional cleaning.

After installation is 100% complete and you've tested the water. We'll do a walkthrough, test everything, answer your questions, then process payment. If something's not right, we fix it before you pay. Simple as that.

Most families use 1-2 bags per month (40 lbs each, about $6-8 per bag). Little Guy system: 1 bag monthly. Will's Special: 1.5 bags. Big Daddy: 2-3 bags. You can buy salt anywhere—Home Depot, Lowe's, Costco. We don't care where you get it, just make sure its for a water softener.

RO filters: Every 6-12 months (you'll notice faucet flow when it's time, or you can buy a cheap TDS meter on Amazon to monitor it). Softener media: 5-7 years. The system tells you when it needs attention, most people just swap the full system out with a new one. Filters cost $50-150 depending on which ones. We can do it, or you can—they literally twist off and on.

Check salt monthly (takes 5 seconds—just look in the tank). Add salt when low (takes 30 seconds). That's it. The system regenerates itself automatically. Annual service is optional but recommended, like getting your HVAC checked.

Not if we size it correctly, which we will. You might notice slightly lower pressure the first day as the system fills, but after that, full pressure. Many people report better pressure after installation because these systems can clean out scale that was restricting flow.

Call us. If it's our installation (first year), we fix it free. If it's a part failure, we'll  check your warranty—tanks are lifetime, valves are 5 years, our ceramic discs are lifetime. We use standard parts, so any plumber can service it, but we prefer you call us because we know the system and are committed to honest pricing.

Technically yes, but most customers leave systems to increase home value. A water treatment system adds approximately $5,000 to home value in the Nashville market—more than the system cost. If you do move it, we can disconnect for a service fee and reinstall at your new home. However, since systems are sized for specific water conditions, it's often better to leave it and invest in a properly sized system for your new home.

About as loud as a dishwasher, but it happens at 2 AM. You might hear water running, however, most people sleep through it. If 2 AM doesn't work (shift worker, light sleeper, babies), we can change the timing.

Optional annual service includes: filter replacements, salt delivery and filling, system health check, and priority service for any issues. This isn't a money maker for us—it keeps you in the family for future plumbing needs.

Our installers are licensed plumbers. Got a dripping faucet? Running toilet? Mention it. If we have time, we'll fix it. We also install main shut-off valves if you don't have one (free with your system). Water heaters coming soon!
