From real estate to real service
Will's Friends didn't start in a garage or with a business plan. It started with a problem we couldn't ignore and a conviction that we could do better.
Will and his mom run the Hetherington Team, one of the top-performing real estate teams in Nashville and Franklin. For years, they've helped families find their dream homes throughout Middle Tennessee—beautiful properties, great neighborhoods, the whole package.
But there was a problem they kept seeing over and over again.
After closing on high-end homes, their clients would routinely get price-gouged or taken advantage of by contractors simply because of where they lived. Premium zip codes meant premium (inflated) pricing—not because the work was better, but because trades companies saw an opportunity to charge more.
It bothered us. A lot. These were people we'd built relationships with, families we cared about. We'd just helped them make one of the biggest investments of their lives, and now they were getting taken advantage of the moment they needed basic home services.
So we made a decision: if we couldn't find trades companies we trusted to serve our clients fairly, we'd build one ourselves.
We're starting with water filtration and tankless water heaters to get a foothold and establish ourselves in Middle Tennessee. These are critical systems that directly impact family health and comfort—and they're areas where homeowners often feel overwhelmed by confusing information and high-pressure sales.
But this is just the beginning. Our long-term vision is to grow into other trades services—HVAC, electrical, general plumbing, remodeling—any service where Nashville families deserve better than what's currently available.
Honest pricing, quality work, and genuine care for every home we enter
A place where skilled tradespeople are valued and respected
Bringing integrity back to a fragmented trades industry
The trades industry is highly fragmented and, frankly, in desperate need of revival. Too many homeowners have been burned by shoddy work, dishonest pricing, or poor customer service. Too many talented tradespeople work for companies that don't value them. We're here to change both of those things.
Our company is rooted in Christian faith—not as a marketing angle, but as the foundation for how we operate. We believe in serving others, treating people with dignity, and doing the right thing even when no one's watching.
We named it "Will's Friends" because this business isn't about us—it's about our customers and the people doing the work every day. It's not the "Will Hetherington Company" because ego has no place here. This is about serving our Nashville neighbors well and creating a place where great people want to work.
We also wanted it to feel like when you call us for an emergency—or just because you want better water—it feels like you're inviting a friend over that you haven't seen in a while. Friendly. Trustworthy. Someone you'd actually want in your home.
That's the standard we hold ourselves to. Would you want us in your home? Would you recommend us to your actual friends? If the answer isn't "absolutely yes," we're not doing our job.
We have a simple rule: we only hire people we'd want to go on vacation with and who are the best at their craft.
It's more than skill—it's about character. The people you'd vacation with are those who excel at what they do, bring joy to those around them, treat others with respect, and make every interaction meaningful. These are the craftspeople serving your family, entering your home, and representing our name. We refuse to settle for anything less.
We don't hire novice plumbers. We don't hire people motivated only by a paycheck. Every person we bring on board must excel in three areas: skill, character, and personality.
Without expertise, nothing else matters—you can't fake your way through quality work. But skill alone isn't enough. If you're talented yet lack integrity or the ability to connect with people, you won't represent us. We demand all three because Nashville families deserve nothing less.
We started with tankless water heaters and water filtration because that's where we saw the greatest need among our real estate clients. Families were asking for recommendations, and we couldn't confidently refer anyone. So we built the solution ourselves.
This is just the beginning. We're building something intentionally, thoughtfully, and with the long-term in mind. Water treatment is our starting point, but the mission is bigger: to bring integrity, quality, and genuine care back to the trades industry in Nashville.
As we grow, we'll expand into other services—always maintaining the same standards, always hiring the same caliber of people, always putting families first.
If you're a Nashville family who values honest service, quality work, and being treated with respect—we're here for you.
Experience what it's like to work with a trades company that actually cares about doing right by you.
